Our internet based team enrols students from all over the world. We are seeking individuals with degree standard marketing qualifications and experience working in the internet industry.

Description of the position:

The E-Marketing Manager position is a bridge between the Internet Sales and Editorial departments with the overall objective of increasing traffic, online enquiries and ultimately direct sales among the USA websites.

The role of the E-Marketing Manager will require excellent communication skills. This is a diverse role that often requires communication with multiple departments within the group and so experience of working within a matrix organisation would be useful.

Study Group currently undertakes e-marketing campaigns in up to 13 languages and the role requires first class planning skills, an eye for detail and a determination to get the job done within strict time frames and within budget.

The position will be based in Downtown San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:

The main responsibility is to develop and implement a coherent, systematic promotional strategy for the USA division with the aim of meeting rigorous direct sales targets, ultimately making a measurable and significant contribution to the unit’s direct sales volumes. Key activities will be:

  • Manage strategy and execution of all online marketing media, including paid search, affiliate marketing and banner advertising.
  • Implementation and maintenance of multi-lingual SEM campaigns using Google, Overture and local search engines where applicable.
  • Turn website data into actionable recommendations
  • Manage and develop the affiliate program.
  • Implement a wide range of marketing practices to increase user loyalty, acquire new customers and drive direct sales.
  • Aid the Web team in search engine optimization and site improvement efforts for the following:
  • A further 6 sites are planned to come online during 2008 and a further 25 during 2009.
  • Produce detailed reports for editors and senior management.
  • Manage the E-Marketing budget across all sites.
  • Carry out detailed market research within our leading territories in order to produce targeted marketing campaigns.

Required qualities and skills expected of the applicant:

  • 3-6 years of marketing experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in online marketing, including PPC, banners and affiliates.
  • Strength in Hitbox, Omniture, WebTrends or another leading web analytics solution.
  • Superior analytical skills, with the ability to translate hard data into strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a team player, working well with others.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Results driven professional.
  • Consumer marketing experience preferred.
  • Must be a natural problem solver, very inquisitive and passionate.
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • An understanding of channel conflict and the established repertoire of approaches to dealing with it

Desirable attributes

  • Direct knowledge or experience of the international education industry.
  • Fluency in a foreign language.
  • Familiarity with or experience of language schools, American Universities and experience of studying abroad or of the international education industry would be a distinct advantage.
