Engineering Co-ordinator/Arab student counsellor

The International Study Centre (ISC) prepares international students for entry on to the first year of degree courses at Sussex University. The post is full time based at the ISC on the University of Sussex Campus and will commence on 1st November 2008.

The co-ordinator part of the role will involve taking responsibility for the resourcing of the Engineering team and ensuring delivery is consistent across the subject ranges; the role also involves a teaching element of 20 hours a week. The counselling part of the role will involve supervising and supporting Arabic speaking students with their cultural transition to the UK and liaising with student sponsors. The successful applicant will be required to assist in the development of new projects.

Applicants should be qualified to Masters level in an Engineering subject. Prior experience in teaching and counselling Arabic speaking students is essential.
