As a global education company sourcing the majority of its business internationally, Study Group recognises the disparity in educational provision across the world and seeks to make a difference by funding the construction of schools in disadvantaged communities.

Study Group also recognises its responsibility towards protection of the environment and issues this statement as a commitment of both management and employees to minimising the environmental impact of its operations.

Building Futures

In working with an established charity, Plan International, which invests all funds raised from donors into its school construction projects, Study Group seeks to help disadvantaged communities in developing countries provide a decent education to their citizens. Study Group believes that the funding of school building in under-developed countries contributes to the preservation of the social structure for future generations, and that this is entirely in line with Study Group’s brand identity as a global provider of education.
We will achieve this by:

• Establishing a company charity, Building Futures, and providing a means for staff to donate
• Facilitating fund-raising initiatives by staff and students in our schools and offices worldwide
• Matching from company funds monies raised in such initiatives
• Promoting the work of Building Futures and Plan International within our company and to our suppliers and clients

Impact on the environment

Study Group aims to foster among its staff, suppliers, customers, shareholders and communities local to its operations an understanding of environmental issues in the context of its business.
Our collective task is to ensure that we continually improve the environmental impact of our total global activities. We will achieve this by:

• Green Office
  •Minimising the consumption of natural resources and energy, whilst consuming material goods in moderation, both in our offices and in improved delivery modes in our schools
  •Reducing the creation of waste by the adoption of improved operating practices and by the recycling of materials whenever practical
  •Ensuring all waste and effluent is disposed of in a safe and responsible manner
  •Investing in the development of new products and processes that have an improved performance regarding their impact on the environment
  •Complying with environmental legislation
• School Maintenance and Construction
  •Ensuring our school buildings are built to strict environmental standards, designed to demonstrate a reduction in carbon dioxide emission compared to similar sized existing buildings
• Carbon offset
  •Allowing staff globally to contribute to such schemes with company contributions in line with our company carbon footprint
  •Enabling our clients to offset voluntarily the carbon emissions of their flights when joining our courses by including information on reputed international carbon offset schemes in all our promotional materials
  •Promoting alternative sustainable travel options to our employees and clients
  •Finding electronic solutions to our business travel needs wherever possible to reduce environmental impact
